Voluntary Action Is More Powerful Than Compelled Action
No matter the path that you choose, there will always be suffering involved. It is better to voluntarily face evil, and to choose your suffering, as voluntary action is more powerful than compelled action. Choosing is better than being forced or mandated.
When suffering is taken on voluntarily, we are being proactive rather than reactive. This gives us an internal locus of control, which is empowering in the face of suffering. You are made up is what you encounter when you voluntarily encounter the unknown. The more you voluntarily encounter the unknown, the more you get made of and grow.
