Perfectionism Hinders Progress
Perfectionism causes problems for both starting and finishing. There will never be perfect conditions to start, and the closer you try to complete something to perfection - which is not possible - the more effort is required. Both ends lead to forms of procrastination in starting and finishing.
Lower the barrier for starting something. Break things down into smaller pieces, and start with small steps. Focus on the 20% that will get you to 80% of the outcome, and then ship. Don't focus on trying to be perfect or the best.
It is better to iterate over many versions with incremental improvements than have everything perfect in one go. Focus on systems rather than goals.
